Projects
Semantic search and cross-references across more than 50,000 hadiths, with Arabic and English exploration. Primary long-term builder.
Explore Hadith AI
One narration opens. Fine threads reach toward others, across the archive.
Hadith AI makes more than 50,000 hadiths across multiple collections explorable through natural-language and semantic search.
Arabic and English sit alongside related narrations, cross-references, and ways to explore and share what you find.
Hassan is the primary long-term builder, working across the product, search, corpus and database, mobile experience, sharing, and infrastructure.
The software helps reveal relationships in a large corpus. The archive keeps its sources close.
A first website, built and hosted free for UAE small businesses from their everyday links, photos, and notes. Co-builder.
Explore Sytes
A shopfront appears inside the screen. Its sign is still being painted.
Sytes builds and hosts a first website free for UAE small and local businesses, starting with what they already have.
A business name, contact details, links, photographs, menus, files, and notes become the raw material of a live site.
Hassan co-built the product, request funnel, publishing flow, SEO, attribution, and mobile experience.
The work is in making the handoff simple: from a scattered pile of useful things to a place customers can visit.
Serious-intent South Asian diaspora matchmaking with transparent compatibility, privacy, and optional family involvement. Co-builder / product designer.
Explore Pardesi
Two telephones wait. The cable between them has more questions than answers.
Pardesi is serious-intent matchmaking for the South Asian diaspora, with culture, religion, lifestyle, and location in the compatibility picture.
Transparent weighted matching helps explain the connection. Privacy and optional family involvement shape how people take the next step.
Hassan is a hands-on co-builder and product designer across onboarding, compatibility, Family First, messaging, verification UI, the design system, and web positioning.
The point is not simply another match. It is making the reasons for one understandable.
A fully offline habit tracker and workout log. No accounts, cloud sync, tracking, or subscriptions. Core co-builder.
Explore Sync — Tracker
A calendar clicks forward. No cable leaves the machine.
Sync — Tracker is a fully offline habit tracker and gym log. Habits can use schedules, counters, streaks, success rates, reminders, and contribution views.
Workouts include templates, sets, reps, weights, progressive overload, and analytics. Widgets and live workout surfaces keep the current session close.
Hassan is a core co-builder across habits, counters, widgets, reminders, workouts, calendar, weight tracking, and templates.
There are no accounts, cloud sync, third-party tracking, ads, subscriptions, or required internet connection. Progress can stay personal.
An NYU Abu Dhabi capstone connecting textbook pages to interactive HoloLens 2 learning experiences. Co-creator, researcher, and co-author.
Explore HoloLearn
A textbook opens. Something with volume rises from the page.
HoloLearn was an NYU Abu Dhabi computer-science capstone connecting physical textbook pages and QR codes to HoloLens 2 learning experiences.
Learners could manipulate 3D models, use a HoloTutor, read PDFs, take notes, and work with voice or text. Educator tools supported learning assets.
Hassan was a co-creator, researcher, and co-author, and the dominant contributor in the main Unity repository.
The question was spatial: what becomes easier to understand when you can examine it from another side?
Connected archives, stories, maps, and community memory, with attention to provenance and excluded narratives. Built and rebuilt major parts in collaboration.
Explore CIE Heritage / Heritage Lab
A point on a map opens into a voice, a story, and the place it came from.
CIE Heritage and Heritage Lab connect communities, researchers, students, artists, and heritage professionals through stories, oral histories, media, maps, and landscapes.
The rebuilt platform makes fragmented archives and community memory explorable, with attention to excluded narratives and source provenance.
Hassan built and rebuilt major parts in collaboration: migrations, maps and globes, story systems, discovery, public redesign, and editor tooling.
Some of the work concerns Gaza memory and satellite experiences. The sources and people behind a place matter as much as the map.
Market workshop
Local portfolio tooling, Bitcoin research, trading arithmetic, and experiments that taught useful lessons. Builder / researcher.
Explore Market workshop
Three locks. Preview. Limit. Confirm.
A local-first IBKR system makes portfolio state and proposed rebalances visible before execution, with deliberate confirmations, limits, allowlists, audit trails, and post-submit checks. The public room has no brokerage connection.
A BTC/USDT compression study tested continuation with costs, walk-forward evaluation, bootstrap and permutation tests, and baselines. The hypothesis was not established as statistically significant.
A separate trader calculator handles long and short take-profit and stop-loss arithmetic. Bitcoin futures algorithms and Solana copy trading were experiments, not successful products.
Hassan built these tools to investigate decisions. No holdings, balances, accounts, wallet information, orders, or private research data are shown here.
It was built to find a pattern. It became more useful when it learned to doubt one.
Finance
Exploring disciplined portfolio construction and testing market hypotheses. A Bitcoin compression study did not establish statistical significance. No private portfolio data is published here.
About
Islamabad, Abu Dhabi, and NYU Abu Dhabi. Games, building PCs, sport, food, and making dense systems explorable.
The duck in the mirror
Grade 10. Hassan’s first computer-science teacher gave him a rubber debugging duck.
That little duck marks the start of his coding journey.
A debugging duck gives you someone to explain a problem to. Sometimes saying it out loud is enough to hear what you missed.
Physics, after hours
Hassan has a huge passion for physics. Theoretical physics, in particular.
He’s spent countless hours watching physics videos. Veritasium, Vsauce, and PBS are a few of his go-to channels.
When he has trouble sleeping, he puts on a video about anything from black holes to quantum mechanics. He’s usually asleep around the eight-minute mark.
If you ever want to see how much of a geek he is, ask him about quasars. He loves them.
Games & PC building
Hassan loves building PCs. Apparently making software was not enough reasons to have something in pieces on a desk.
The interactive PC shows one game per visit. All six stories are available here.
Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome
Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome was Hassan’s first PC game.
Before the projects, there was a different kind of campaign.
Prince of Persia
The original Prince of Persia on DOS belongs among Hassan’s formative games.
A whole world, with very little to render.
Fortnite
Fortnite is Hassan’s high-school and COVID-era time capsule. He played on a TV a friend gave him before leaving the UAE.
Too many memories to fit in one place. It’s probably the most nostalgic game in his life.
You’ll still catch him picking up the controller and loading it up. Against the new generation, though? He doesn’t stand a chance. Nothing makes him feel older quite so efficiently.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk is Hassan’s favourite single-player game, and the one he’s put the most hours into. He’s finished it multiple times.
It helped him realise the art style he loves. Sometimes the entire plan is just driving through Night City. His favourite driving simulator, apparently.
Getting it to cooperate took quite a few hardware upgrades. Night City made demands. The PC received parts.
Fallout 4
Fallout 4 is the best story-mode experience Hassan has played.
The depth is what stays with him: building communities, making decisions, choosing allegiances. So many choices, and so many paths through the world.
And through all of it, there’s still a story pulling him forward. A main quest competing with every other thing he could be doing.
Rocket League
Five minutes a match. Hassan tells himself he can fit in a few rounds. Somehow, that has turned into countless hours.
It’s probably the game he’s become best at competitively. He often finds himself in the top 10% of players worldwide.
The game he plays between games. An efficient arrangement, if the goal is more games.
Julius
Hassan is a cat person. This is Julius, his cat.
If you have Hassan’s Instagram, see his shared reels for the best cat reels ever.
Julius has places to be. Mostly, somewhere else to sit.
Anime
Kakashi · Naruto
Smart, skilled, and cool. Sometimes the explanation really is that simple. Kakashi has always been that character for Hassan.
He’s Hassan’s gamertag in most of his games. There’s even a mini Kakashi inside his PC.
Nonchalant before Hassan even knew the word existed.
Goku · Dragon Ball
Goku is everything. Hassan can place whole chapters of his life by what he was watching in the Dragon Ball universe.
Being a kid in Islamabad, watching Frieza versus Goku. Later, when he first moved to the UAE, waiting for each weekly episode of Dragon Ball Super.
It feels like a journey of watching Goku grow up. But more than that, it’s watching himself grow up.
Sport & training
Gym & bodybuilding
Gym and bodybuilding have been a constant in Hassan’s life for years.
With JavaScript, each visitor’s room holds one sports object. All four stories are available in this text version.
Football
Hassan loves watching football. When he plays, he is the goalkeeper.
He supports Spain’s national team. He is half Spanish, although he doesn’t speak the language.
At club level, it is Barça and Manchester City. There is more than one team to get emotionally invested in.
Cricket
Hassan grew up watching and playing cricket in Pakistan: in the streets, and on rooftops back home.
After moving to the UAE, life became busier. These days, cricket is something he watches passionately.
It still carries childhood with it. A match can bring those streets and rooftops a little closer.
Table tennis
Table tennis belongs to Hassan’s university years. He played a lot of it then.
Among the things this room keeps from university, there is room for a paddle as well as a capstone.
Padel
Padel has been Hassan’s latest obsession over the past few years.
Countless WhatsApp groups. There is always another game to organise.
He can spin and slice the ball. Smashing it out of the court is still a work in progress.
Places I’ve prayed
“Pray in every new place; who knows how long that patch of earth has waited to hear Allah’s name?”
With JavaScript, the prayer mat opens an interactive world map.

9 Jul 2024Spanish heritage
A quarter Spanish by heritage, and a Spanish citizen with the passport to match. I’ve never lived there; I’m rediscovering that part of myself, one city at a time.
Places I’ve visited: Madrid, Málaga, Toledo, Cardona, Barcelona, Valencia, Xilxes, Peñíscola.
